The 1900 U.S. Census indicates John Freeman immigrated to the U.S. from Iceland in 1878. However, I'm not sure this makes sense because apparently his mother (Sigridur Eyvindardottir Freeman) and step-father (Larus Bjornsson Freeman) apparently left Iceland for Canada in 1874, then moved to the U.S. in 1876. This would have made him only about 17 when he was left in Iceland by his parents.

I have thus far been unable to find anything more. I have looked for Jon Jonsson and Jon/John Freeman.
