From SAGA ISLENDINGA i NORTH DAKOTA, Thorstina S. Jackson, 1926. pp. 358-365:
"It was on May 28, 1873, that Sigurjon took passage from Iceland on an ancient ship called
Hjalmar. There were 11 of them that took passage on the same ship. It looked so unseaworthy that it seemed
doubtful it would ever reach harbor. They encountered storms and heavy seas and it was often difficult to
know which end of old Hjalmar was up. However, they reached landfall at last at Kristianssand in Norway
June 5. They continued on from there to Bergen, Norway. There they took passage with the line Haraldur
Harfagri to New York, U.S.A. From there they went by train to Milwaukee, Wisconsin."
